RESOLUTION NO. 4947
RESOLUTION OF Tim COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO COMPLETE ADOPTION
OF CERTAIN ELEMENTS IN THE PALO ALTO COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 65302.2 requires that the
seismic safety,-noiae, safety and scenic highway elements of
the General Plan be adopted on or before September 20, 1974; and:.
WHEREAS, Palo Alto is currently engaged on a full.and
complete program of revision of its Comprehensive Plan; and ·
WHEREAS, said full and complete revision involves the use
of outside consultants, as well as several members of the staff
of the City of Palo Alto on a full time basis; and
WHEREAS, an extensive public review is required, both by
the nature of the full and complete revision herein as well
as by ordinances of the City of Palo Alto, which review will
cause said elements to be considered by the Council of the
City of Palo Alto after the deadline of September 20, 1974;
and
WHEREAS, the preparation of the required elements are beii;,g
accomplished within a comprehensiv~ general plan program involving
a systematic evaluation of the inter-related aspects which would
result in an integrated product; and
WHEREAS, completion of the said elements and adoption by the
Council of the City of Palo Alto will not be completed prior
to mid 1975;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
Tbat to che extent that the Council on Inter-governmental
Relations of the State_ of California has the authority so to do,
and in the interest of cooperation between the agencies at various
levels of government, request is hereby made for an extension of
ti.me up to September 20, 1975, for adoption by the City of Palo
Alto of the aeiam.ic safety 1 noise·; safety and scenic highway
elements of the Palo Alto Comprehen•ive Plan.
