RESOLUTION OF" THE COUNCtii OF' 'l'Rl!! C'nT OP PALO ALTO
COMMENDING' THE PALO AL'l'O" "CHAMBD' OR~TRA ANO
URGING SUPPORT P'OR' ITS. "ACTIVITIES
represent .. the·youth• of·the·:Pa10-Alto'area; and
WHEREAS-, for· eight-years ·the· yuanog .people uf··the -hrlo Alto
CliamberOrchestra·have had'a·pos-itive-:--in"ffU'ence-in·the Palo Alto
conuuunity; and
WHEREAS, the members of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra
provide-inspiration to young musicians throughout the Palo Alto
community area; and
WHEREAS, the· music produced by the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra
is· an· asset to the cultural life of this community; and
WHEREAS; in addition to the regular series of six concerts,
the-Palo Alto Chamber-orchestra provides this community with
up to· thirty performances each year for audiences ranging from
·elementary schoo:l children to senior citizen organizations;

WHEREAS, for the· most part· these conce~ts are provided as
a pUb1ic· service, free· of charge-; and
WHEREAS1 ·the· Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra· carries· the· name
·0£ and· represents Palo Alto throughout the State of ca-lifornia
and 'other-western·· States; and
WHEREAS1·this year the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra has been
inVited·as·one of two· orchestras from the United States and one
of two· chamber· orchestras from throughout the world to participate
a.t the· tnternational Festival of Youth Orchestras in Aberdeen,
Scotland and Lon~on,England from August 5th through August -18th;
and
WHEREAS~ the participation of the Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra
at the-tnternationai·Festival·of Youth· orchestras will add to

the· positive international reputation of Palo Altoi
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto supports the activities that will be conducted by
the-Palo Alto Chamber Orchestra starting this date and continuing
·through August of 1974, to raise funds to make the attendance
·at-the· International· Festivals of Youth Orchestras financially
· passible.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
·Palo Alto encourages individuals and corporate members of this
comnmni ty·· to contribute their monies, energy and good· wishes
to-the success· ·o~· this worthy endeavor.
