RESOLUTION NO. 4905
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2649 TO CHANG~ THE DEVELOPMENT
PLAN APPLYING TO THE P-C DISTRICT AT 656 LYTTON AVENUE
SUBJECT TO CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, on April 3, 1972, the Council passed Ordinance No.
2649 changing the zoning of certain property known as 656 Lytton
Avenue from R-3-P to P-C and approving the Development Plan and
Development Schedule thereof: and
WHEREAS, the applicant has requested an amendment to the
P-C plan to allow modification of the configuration of the units
on Middlefield Road to provide a clearance of 26 feet rather
. than 35 feet from the base of the oak tree to t."le base of the
buildings1 and
WHEREAS, the applicant has further requested that the drive-
way to the depressed parking area be moved to within two and
one-half feet of th~ side property line requiring the loss of
the walnut tree in the area1 and
WHEREAS, said change of the P-C Development Plan has been
found to be within the public intttrest, safety, convenience, and
general welfare, and the same will ha~e no significant environ-
mental impactJ and
WHEREAS, the requested amendments shown on the diagram
entitled •Exhibit 3,• which is attached hereto and by reference
made a part hereof, are minor in nature and withi1a:the original
intent of Ordinance No. 26491
NOW, TBBUFORB, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RBSOLVE as followas
SBCTION l. The diagram attached hereto, entitled •Exhibit
3,• hereby ia approved •• a modification of the a.velopeent plan
approved in Ordinance No. 2649, aa ..anded by Resolution No. 4880.

SECTION 2. Subsection B.(6) of Section 2 of Ordinance
No. 2649 hereby is amended to read as follows:
"6) The configuration of the units on Middlefield
Road shall be such as to insure the preser-
vation of the monumental oak tree in that area.
A clearance of not less than twenty-six (26)
feet from the base of the oak tree to the base
of the buildings shall be provided. Any trim-
ming of the monumental oak tree on Middlefield
Road shall be accomplished undei the direction
of a qualified arborist with the goal in mind
of preserving the major structural form of the
tree,,"
SECTION 3. All other provisions of Ordinance No. 2649, as
amended, shall remain in full force and effect.
