RESOLUTION NO. 4862
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING RESOLUTION 2971 TO PROHIBIT PARKXNG ON
ST. FRANCIS DRIVE AND TO ALTER PARKING PROHIBITIONS
ON A PORTION OF NEWELL.ROAD
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as fol-
SECTION 1. The parking designations set forth on the map
entitled "PLAN 1 E 1 -BICYCI.E ROUTES .~o IMPROVEMENTS" attached
to Resolution No. 4584, adopted April 10, 1972, are hereby
amended to reflect the following:
(a) Both sides of st. Francis Drive between Embarcadero Road
and Oregon· Avenue are hereby designated as a zone wherein
no parking is permitted at any time and are delineated on
a map designated as EXHIBIT A attached hereto and by
reference made a part hereof.
(b} The westerly side of Newell Road between Channing and
Hopkins Avenue is hereby designated as a zone wherein
parking is p~ohibited between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and
7:00 p.m.
(c) The easter~y side of Newell Road between Channing and
Hopkins Avenues is hereby designated as an unlimited
parking zone.
(d) The parking designations set forth in tPl and (cl above
are further delineated on a map designated EXHIBIT B
attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.
(e) The parking restrictions set forth in (a) and (b) above
do not prohibit the stopping, standing or parking of
commercial vehicles as set forth in Sections l and 2 of
Resolution 4584.
SECTION 2. Section 6 of Resolution 2971 and the P1rking
Zones Map o~ the Cit~ of Palo Alto are amended accordingly and
the City Manager is authorized and directed to erect appropriate
signs.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective upon

upon the installation of the appropriate siqns authorized
in Section 2 hereof.
