The City Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date in the
Council Conference Room, 250 Hamilton Avenue, at 5:30 p.m.
PRESENT: Bechtel (arrived at 6:10 p.m.), Cobb, Fletcher,
Klein, Levy, Patitucci (arrived at 6:20 p.m.),
Renzel, Sutorius, Woolley
Assemblyman Sher discussed expectations for the 1986 legislative
session, and issues of the greatest significance for Palo Alto.
Mayor Cobb and the City Council discussed Palo Alto's highest
legislative priorities, i.e. support for tort reform, especially
SB 75 (Foram) to reduce exposure to "deep pocket" lawsuits;
opposition to AB 2198 (Felando) to repeal the Naylor Act; and
local government financial stability.
ADJOURNMENT
Council adjourned at 9:45 p.rn.
