HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 9811RESOLUTION 9811 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE TO CORY WOLBACH AS COUNCIL MEMBER WHEREAS, Cory Wolbach served as a Palo Alto City Council Member from January 2015 through December 2018; and WHEREAS, Cory was a consistent and articulate leader on issues of sustainable transportation, housing, climate change, and good government; and WHEREAS, during his time on the City Council, Cory chaired the Policy and Services Committee in 2017, and chaired the Rail Committee in 2018, and was a liaison to organizations such as the Friends of the Junior Museum and Zoo, the Palo Alto Housing Corporation, and the Palo Alto Transportation Management Association; and WHEREAS, Cory co-authored the colleague's policies for surveillance technologies; and was lead author of the memo establishing a program of regular town hall meetings in neighborhoods throughout Palo Alto; and WHEREAS, Cory worked diligently with community members and was lead author of the memo to update regulations about Accessory Dwelling Units, enabling more multi-generational households, and Cory was co- protections; and WHEREAS, in 2016, Cory was lead author of the memo declaring Palo Alto to be a diverse, supportive, inclusive and protective community, which was re-affirmed in 2018 when the City Council voted to become a CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women) City. // // // // // // // // (SGY7MKR)RZIPSTI-()**&&% NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of Cory Wolbach, gratefully records both its appreciation, and the appreciation of the citizens and businesses of this community, for his meritorious service and commitment as a Palo Alto Council Member.
