Resolution of the Council of the City of Palo Alto Approving
the Proposed Long-term Electric Plan (LEAP) Objectives,
Strategies, And Implementation Plan
WHEREAS, the Long-tenn Electric Acquisition Plan is a strategic planning
document focused on how the City of Palo Alto's Utilities Department (CPAU) can
successfully balance environmental and economic sustainability as it provides natural gas
service to CPAU customers; and
WHEREAS, staff presented the Long-tenn Electric Acquisition Plan to the
UAC at its November 3, 2010 meeting, and the UAC voted 7 to 0 to recommend that the
City Council approve the Long-tenn Electric Acquisition Plan (LEAP) Objectives,
Strategies, and Implementation Plan; and
WHEREAS, staff presented the Long-tenn Electric Acquisition Plan to the
Finance Committee at its December 7,2010 meeting, and the Finance Committee voted 4
to 0 (with Councilmember Larry Klein absent) to recommend that the City Council
approve the Long-tenn Electric Acquisition Plan (LEAP) Objectives, Strategies, and
Implementation Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does hereby
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council hereby adopts the resolution approving the
Long-tenn Electric Acquisition Plan (LEAP) Objectives, Strategies, and Implementation
Plan.
SECTION 2. The Council finds that any revenue derived from the
authorized adoption enumerated herein shall be used only for the purpose set forth in
Article VII, Section 2, of the Charter of the City of Palo Alto.
