RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALO ALTO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
TIM GRIPPI UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Tim Grippi has served in various capacities for the Utilities
Department from October 10, 1978 to September 12,2009 as Lineman, Lead Lineman,
Utility Engineering Estimator, and Lead Utility Engineering Estimator; and
WHEREAS, Tim Grippi has provided valuable knowledge and insight to the
residents and businesses of this community through design and implementation of state~
of-the-art Electric Utility designs using his extensive understanding of Electric Utility
Systems, and employing personality, wit, humor, and common sense approaches in his
daily activities; and
WHEREAS, Tim Grippi was essential in the implementation and conversion of
overhead electric lines to underground distribution systems resulting in better reliability
and availability of power; and
WHEREAS, Tim Grippi was essential in the implementation and conversion of
overhead 4 kV electric systems to 12 kV electric systems resulting in better reliability and
lower energy usage; and
WHEREAS, Tim Grippi has provided his expertise, guidance, leadership and
support to fellow employees in the Utilities Electric Operations and Engineering
Divisions for over 30 years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto desires to recognize the meritorious service
and contributions of Tim Grippi.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Palo
Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of Tim Grippi and records its
appreciation as well as the appreciation of the citizens of this community for the service
and contribution rendered during his 30 years of employment in the Utilities Electric
Operations and Engineering Divisions.
