The City Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date in the Council Conference Room at 6:30 p.m. PRESENT: Andersen, Huber, Kniss, McCown, Rosenbaum, Schneider, Wheeler ABSENT: Fazzino, Simitian Planning Commission PRESENT: Beecham, Byrd, Cassel, Eakins, Ojakian, Schink, Schmidt SPECIAL MEETINGS 1. Joint Session with the Planning Commission A. Comprehensive Plan Completion and Implementation, e.g., timeline issues. B. Commission Involvement in Capital Improvement Program and Infrastructure Planning, e.g., statutory requirements vis-a-vis practical requirements and methodology. C. Regional Planning - What role can the Planning Commission take? D. Traffic/Transportation Management Issues, e.g., potential creation of a Planning and Transportation Commission. Conference with Labor Negotiator Agency Negotiators: City Council Ad Hoc Personnel Committee (Joe Huber, Dick Rosenbaum, and Lanie Wheeler) and John Shannon, Shannon Davis and Associates Unrepresented Employees: City Attorney Ariel Calonne, City Manager June Fleming, City Clerk Gloria Young, and City Auditor William Vinson Authority: Government Code section 54957.6 The City Council met in Closed Session to discuss matters involving labor negotiation as described in Agenda Item No. 1. Mayor Wheeler announced that no reportable action was taken on Agenda Item No. 1. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 9:33 p.m.
