HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-04-18 City Council Summary Minutes Special Meeting April 18, 1996 The City Council of the City of Palo Alto met on this date in the Council Chambers at 7:18 p.m. PRESENT: Fazzino, Huber, Rosenbaum, Schneider, Wheeler ABSENT: Andersen, Kniss, McCown, Simitian SPECIAL MEETINGS 1. Study Session re 1996-97 Budget Issues Synopsis re 1996-97 Budget Issues The Council discussed the following budget issues: proposed utility rate adjustments; exploration of acquisition and use of the former Los Altos Treatment Plant site; a proposed Electric Fund Calaveras Reserve policy; the new Demand Side Management program; proposed staffing additions in the 1996-98 Budget; police assis-tance to East Palo Alto; and funding for the Urban Ministry. Those members of the Council not on the Finance Committee provided indications of the issues that they would like the Committee to explore during the budget hearings. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - None. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 8:21 p.m. NOTE: Sense minutes (synopsis) are prepared in accordance with Palo Alto Municipal Code Sections 2.04.200 (a) and (b). The City Council and Standing Committee meeting tapes are made solely for the purpose of facilitating the preparation of the minutes of the meetings. City Council and Standing Committee meeting tapes are recycled 90 days from the date of the meeting. The tapes are available for members of the public to listen to during regular office hours.
