City of Palo Alto, California Memorandum To: COUNCIL APPOINTED OFFICERS COMMITTEE From: RUSSELL CARLSEN, DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES Date: SEPTEMBER 7, 2010 Subject: Review proposals from Executive Search Firms Related to the City Attorney Recruitment RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the Council Appointed Officers Committee (CAO Committee) review responses to the Request for Proposals (RFP) for professional services and provide direction. DISCUSSION On July 19, 2010, the CAO Committee directed staff to conduct an RFP for the City Attorney Recruitment. The deadline for responses to the RFP was August 31, 2010. The list of respondents is attached coupled with copies of their proposals for members to review and a copy of the RFP. Staff will be available to answer questions and receive direction from the committee on how to proceed.
