RESOLUTION OF TIm COUNCIL OF THE CI'l'Y OP PALO ALTO
BXPRB8SDrG APPRECIATION TO PAM MARSH
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLXC SERVICE AS A CHAIRPERSON
AND KIMBER OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
WBBRBAS, Po 1lar8h haa served as Chairperson of the Planning
Comai •• ion fro. 1990 to 1991 and member from 1985 to 1993; and
WBBRBAS, Paa Marsh was a major contributor and source of
stability and conaenaus-buildillq throughout some ot the moat
controversial planning assignments during her tenure, includincJ the
R-1 Single Family zoning revisions, the Palo Alto ~edical
Foundation Specific Plan, the YMCA, and many other projects; and
WHEREAS, Pam Marsh served through several other major planning
studies, including the Multiple-Family Regulations, the Citywide
Land Use and Transportation study, and the Downtown study and
Regulations; and
WHEREAS, Pam Marsh has made significant personal contribution.
in the areas of child care and family values, has increased local
awareness of the importance of diversity and neighborhood identity
building, and has represented a segment of the community which i.
highly valued and needed in local policy formation--the parents o~
young children; and
WHEREAS, Pam Marsh has given unselfishly of her time,
leader&hip, and outetanding talents in chairing the full commission
and many subcommittees, enhancing mutual respect among all
participants in the planning process, including citizens, staff,
developers, policymakers, the press, and all other ile+-.akeholders·;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto ",tshes to recognize the service
of Pam Marsh and encourage her to continue to act as a community
leader and participant as well as a mentor and inspiration to
others.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records its appreciation, as
well as the appreciation of the citizens of the community, for
o\~tstanding public service rendered by Pam Marsh.
