RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO AINO VIEIRA DA ROSA
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE
AS A MEMBER OF THE ARCHITECTURAL- REVIEW BOARD
WHEREAS, Aino Vieira da Rosa served the City of Palo Alto
as a member of the Architectural Review Board (ARB) from October
1985 to January 1994; and
WHEREAS, Aino Vieira da Rosa was an active member of the
ARB by serving as Chairperson from October 1987 to October 1988 and
October 1991 to October 1992, serving as member of various
committees, and working with the Utilities Department to select and
locate street light fixtures and traffic controllers for Downtown
and residential neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Aino Vieira da Rosa unselfishly contributed her
architectural knowledge, her understanding of Palo Alto issues, her
optimism on the opportunities for Palo Alto, and her expertise in
design and architecture, while paying close attention to detail;
and
WHEREAS, Aino Vieira da Rosa's contributions were made to
guide the development of the community while striving to maintain
high design standards by adhering to the standards for review
established in the ARB ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Aino Vieira da Rosa was instrumental in and
supportive of resolving design issues which took into account both
the needs of applicants and the public's perception of projects;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to acknowledge and
thank Aino Vieira da Rosa for her significant personal efforts and
dedication as a member of the ARB.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere.
appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Aino Vieira
da Rosa for her faithful and excellent service.
