RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO GAIL WOOLLEY
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE
AS A MEMBER OF THE PALO ALTO CENTENNIAL 1994 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, Gail Woolley is a former Council Member and
Mayor of the great City of Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, Gail Woolley has been a member of the Palo Alto
Centennial 1994 Board of Directors during 1993 and 1994; and
WHEREAS, it was Gail Woolley's idea during her term in
1987 to create a Citizens Committee to oversee Palo Alto's
Centennial year; and
WHEREAS, Gail Woolley is a knowledgeable historian of
Palo Alto's rich past; and
WHEREAS, Gail Woolley was Co -Chair of the Tribute
Committee, whose deft and diplomatic leadership led to the wise
choice of 56 creators of Palo Alto's legacy; and
WHEREAS,, Gail Woolley contributed her time and talent as
a member of the Time Capsule Committee, whose many ideas led to
innovative contents of the four time capsules; and
WHEREAS, Gail Woolley unfailingly attended all Centennial
events in flowing gowns of an earlier age.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends thanks and
grateful appreciation to Gail Woolley for her lengthy and loyal
volunteer service for her part in making Palo Alto's Centennial
Year a smashing success.
