RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JAMES WITT
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS
PALO ALTO 1994 CENTENNIAL WALL GENERAL CONTRACTOR EXTRAORDINAIRE
WHEREAS, James Witt was a member of the Permanent Gift
Committee from its beginning in 1992; and
WHEREAS, James Witt was also a member of the Donor
Recognition Committee, the metamorphosis of the Permanent Gift
Committee; and
WHEREAS, James Witt has a flair for art, as well as the
practical; and
WHEREAS, James Witt offered both these qualities to the
Committee and to the Centennial; and
WHEREAS, James Witt and his crew helped construct the
Centennial Wall and the "Palo Alto Public Works" memorial curb; and
WHEREAS, James Witt installed the Centennial Time
Capsules in the depths of City Hall.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends special
thanks to James Witt for his generous service and to him and his
family for their support of the Palo Alto Centennial 1994.
