HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO7392RESOLUTION 7392_ RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO BETH BENING MARTIN - FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE PALO ALTO CENTENNIAL 1994 BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHEREAS, Beth Bening Martin has been a member of the Palo Alto Centennial 1994 Board of Directors since 1992; and WHEREAS, Beth Bening Martin has been a Board Member on loan from the Junior League; and WHEREAS, Beth Bening Martin's leadership of the Centennial community outreach assured broad participation by all 17 designated sectors of the community; and WHEREAS, Beth Bening Martin and her committee identified over 400 community groups, including 283 nonprofit organizations; and WHEREAS, Beth Bening Martin oversaw the creation and coordination of 270 community events, programs, projects, and activities, from "Red Ribbon Week" to "A Creek Runs Through It: The Story of San Francisquito," and from "A Centennial Tribute: Creators of Palo Alto's Legacy" to "Disability Awareness Week"; and WHEREAS, Beth Bening Martin was a consistent volunteer in all Centennial activities and events. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Beth Bening Martin for her lengthy and loyal volunteer service and for her part in making Palo Alto's Centennial Year a smashing success.
