RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO DEBBIE FORD-SCRIBA
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE
AS A MEMBER OF THE PALO ALTO CENTENNIAL 1994 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, Debbie Ford-Scriba has been a member of the Palo
Alto Centennial 1994 Board of Directors since 1993; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Ford-Scriba has been active in varied
community and Centennial programs and projects, including the
Public Relations Committee, Community Campaign, and 21st Century
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Ford-Scriba has been a dynamic liaison
with the Palo Alto Weekly, whose support was essential to the
Centennial's success, beginning with the Moonlight Run; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Ford-Scriba was a consistent participant
in all Centennial fund-raising, particularly the Palo Alto Weekly's
Holiday Campaign, which generated over $170,000 to the Centennial
Endowment Fund, the total match for William R. Hewlett's $80,000
match grant; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Ford-Scriba was chief organizer of the
three Palo Alto Weekly sponsored forums, which attracted over 2,000
participants; and
WHEREAS, Debbie Ford-Scriba is the fastest doer, talker,
and mover in her marketing field on the Midpeninsula.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere
appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Debbie Ford-
Scriba for her lengthy and loyal volunteer service and for her part
in making Palo Alto's Centennial Year a smashing success.
