RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO MARY DAVEY
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE
AS THE PALO ALTO CENTENNIAL 1994 EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto officially celebrated Palo
Alto Centennial 1994 from October 8, 1993, through October 16,
1994, and required an executive director to administer this year
long celebration; and
WHEREAS, Palo Alto Centennial 1994 was blessed to have
Mary Davey accept the job as executive director in May 1993; and
WHEREAS, Mary Davey did cheerfully and
administer her scintillating and skillful staff; and
WHEREAS, Mary Davey did oversee the Opening
Centennial Eve, the Birthday Celebration, and the
Celebration with great tact and assertiveness; and

WHEREAS, Mary Davey did enthusiastically spend countless
hours supporting 270 community events, 17 committees with
innumerable meetings, and more than 1,650 ardent volunteers; and
WHEREAS, Mary Davey did generate enthusiasm and
commitment to the successful fund-raising campaigns and the
lollapalooza Centennial Wall; and
WHEREAS, Mary Davey did provide ebullient guidance and
conscientious collaborative support to the auspicious augmentation
of the time capsules; and
WHEREAS, Mary Davey did profitably and sagaciously manage
the Centennial Garage Sale; and
WHEREAS, Mary Davey did carry out her job with great
personal and professional dedication and expertise.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere
appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Mary Davey
for outstanding public service as the Palo Alto Centennial 1994
Executive Director.
