RESOLUTION -OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO MARX BOWERS
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE
DURING PALO ALTO'S CENTENNIAL 1994
WHEREAS, Mark Bowers volunteered his time and creativity
to the Centennial; and
WHEREAS, Mark Bowers designed a beautiful commemorative
cancellation stamp honoring Palo Alto's 100th birthday, April 16,
1994; and
WHEREAS, this cancellation stamp was widely acclaimed and
used especially on the Centennial Day of Celebration; and
WHEREAS, the Post Office substation, where the.
cancellation stamp was used, proved to be the most popular booth of
the day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere
appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Mark Bowers
for his outstanding design and contribution to the Palo Alto
Centennial 1994.
