HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO7340RESOLUTION 7 340 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO THOMAS W. FLYNN UPON HIS RETIREMENT WHEREAS, Thomas W. Flynn served the City of Palo Alto and its citizens as a member of the Palo Alto Police Department Reserve Program from February 1951 through July 1994 and was promoted to the rank of Reserve Supervisor in March 1971; and WHEREAS, Thomas W. Flynn served the Palo Alto community in all aspects of law enforcement with more than 30,000 hours working in Patrol, Traffic, and Community Crime Prevention; and WHEREAS, Thomas W. Flynn was an integral part of the Reserve Officer Program for new officers and served as the program supervisor for 23 years; and WHEREAS, Thomas W. Flynn pursued his 43 -year law enforcement career with dignity, loyalty, fairness, courtesy, and professionalism and received numerous commendations and awards recognizing said attributes; and - WHEREAS, Thomas W. Flynn had primary traffic control responsibilities associated with over 300 Stanford football games. and 43 May Fete Parades. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of Thomas W. Flynn and records its appreciation, as well as the appreciation of the citizens of this community, upon his retirement.
