RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE .CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO MICHAEL O., FROMHOLD
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Michael O. Fromhold served the City of Palo Alto as
a member of the Public Works Department from February 1959 through
April 1994; and
WHEREAS, Michael O. Fromhold has personally planted thousands
of the Palo Alto street trees that line the streets today, including
nearly all of the trees in Mitchell Park; and
WHEREAS, Michael O. Fromhold has pursued his 35 -year career
with exceptional dedication and concern for the care and renewal of the
urban forest of Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, Michael O. Fromhold has accrued over one year of sick
leave and has donated hundreds of hours of vacation time in his zeal for
his work; and
WHEREAS, Michael O. Fromhold has taught the art and science of
arboriculture, has instilled respect for trees in many of his
co-workers, and has shared his knowledge and love of trees with
interested Palo Alto residents over the years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of
Michael O. Fromhold and records its appreciation, as well as the
appreciation of the citizens of this community, upon the occasion of his
retirement.
