RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
CHANGING THE NAME OF THE CITY STREET KNOWN AS
TAMARACK COURT TO DINAH'S COURT
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto (the "City") has received a
request to consider changing the name of a City street currently
known as Tamarack Court to Dinah's Court and the individual making
the request has agreed to pay for the full cost of changing all of
the existing street signs to reflect the name change; and
1}EREAS, in compliance with City Policy and Procedure 1-16,
the Street Names Committee of the Palo Alto Historical Association
has unanimously recommended in favor of the requested street name
change because the name Dinah's Court reflects the historical use
of the street's adjacent properties; and
WHEREAS, the Communications Division of the City Police
Department has found no conflict with similar street names within
the City or adjacent jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the City Council also finds that the name of the
street should be changed to Dinah's Court to reflect the historical
use of the properties adjacent to the street;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
hereby RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The name of the City street currently known as
Tamarack Court shall be changed to Dinah's Court, effective as set
forth an Section 2 of this resolution. The City Manager or her
designee is hereby directed to have the existing City street sign
changed to reflect the new street name upon receiving sufficient
funds to erect the new sign and to notify the California Department
of Transportation (Caltrans) of the new street name so that the
existing Caltrans signs on El Camino Real will also be changed to
reflect the new street name.
SECTION 2. The effective date of the change of the name of
said street to Dinah's Court shall be the day when the installation
of the new street signs by the City and Caltrans, which reflect the
name change, is completed.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to forward a
certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of
Santa Clara County, California.

S$CTION 4. The adoption of this resolution is not a
project for purposes of the California Environmental Quality Act.
