HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO7286RESOLUTION 7286 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO HONORING BOB MOSS FOR HIS OUTSTANDING EFFORTS IN ERADICATING GRAFFITI WHEREAS, although the emergence of graffiti in March 1992 appeared to be a short-term experience for Palo Alto, a reemergence began to appear throughout the City in December 1992; and WHEREAS, at the January 4, 1993, Council meeting, Bob Moss expressed his concern about this growing problem to the City Council and suggested that action be taken quickly to address this visual pollution; and WHEREAS, without hesitation, Bob Moss unselfishly put forth a tremendous amount of energy, time, and perseverance to the graffiti cleanup effort in the City of Palo Alto and has effectively involvzd to Barron Park community; and WHEREAS, Bob Moss introduced the graffiti removal kit, which he offered to anyone in the Barron Park community who wished to help; and WHEREAS, Bob Moss has been cleaning graffiti off utility boxes, phone booths, street signs, and bridges in areas from Barron Park to West Bayshore and from Hamilton to San Antonio; and WHEREAS, to date, it is estimated that Bob Moss has cleaned more than 1,300 "tags" since January 1993. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Palo Alto, on behalf of the citizens of this community, hereby recognizes and honors Bob Moss for his outstanding volunteer efforts in eradicating graffiti to make Palo Alto a better place for all.
