RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO NANCY RITCHEY
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE
HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Nancy Ritchey served the City of Palo Alto as a
member of the Human Relations Commission from April 1992 to January
1995; and
WHEREAS, Nancy Ritchey provided leadership and expertise
from her counseling background, as well as her personal insight, to
the Commission; and
WHEREAS, through her leadership, following the Council
request to develop educational outreach activities concerning the
issue of diversity, Nancy. Ritchey developed a one -day training
program.on the subject of diversity for the community at large; and
WHEREAS, out of that community workshop grew the
Diversity Network, a task force of the,Human Relations Commission
which has developed video productions around various diverse groups
in our community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to acknowledge and
thank Nancy Ritchey for her personal commitment to the community
and interest in the City of Palo Alto and for her personal efforts
and dedication as a member of the Human Relations Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere
appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Nancy Ritchey
for her faithful and excellent service rendered to the City.
