RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING AND ADOPTING CHANGES IN THE CITY OF PALO
ALTO'S RESTRICTED PARKING ZONES
WHEREAS, Council adopted through Resolution No. 7413 on
November 11, 1994, certain parking restrictions which prohibit
reparking within designated zones of the University Avenue business
district (the "Downtown District"), to become effective February
13, 1995; and,
WHEREAS, Council further acted in said resolution to
terminate the restriction on parking in city -owned or leased
parking lots or structures in excess of once during any consecutive
five hour period in order to consistently apply to such parking
facilities the prohibition against reparking within the Downtown
business district, said enactment to become effective February 13,
1995; and,
WHEREAS, Council now desires to defer the. effective date
for these provisions to March 17, 1995, in order to allow more
thorough public notice and education regarding these provisions;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1, The effective date on which the parking
restrictions established by section 2 of Resolution No. 7413 shall
be applicable is amended to be March 17, 1995 and the date on which
these parking restrictions shall terminate is amended to be
March 16, 1996, unless otherwise amended by resolution. The
effective date on which the restrictions referenced in section 3 of
Resolution No. 7413 shall be rescinded is amended to be March 17,
1995 and the date such restrictions shall be reinstated, unless
otherwise modified or extended, is amended to be March 16, 1996.
SECTION 2. The Council of the city of Palo Alto finds that
this project qualified for a Class 1 Categorical Exemption under
CEQA guidelines (Section 15301 --Existing Facilities) and procedures
adopted by the City of Palo Alto, and therefore no further
environmental assessment is necessary.
