RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO CANINE ARGUS VOM ZOLLVEREINTOR
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Argus Vom Zollvereintor served the City of Palo
Alto and its citizens as a canine team member from October 1990
through July 1996; and
WHEREAS, Argus Vom Zollvereintor has been the dedicated
partner to his handler, Agent Larry Buck; and
WHEREAS, Argus Vom Zollvereintor apprehended
criminals, including suspects wanted for homicide,
burglary, auto theft, and violent assaults; and
WHEREAS, Argus Vom Zollvereintor assisted
neighboring agencies with searches for suspects; and
numerous
robbery,
several
WHEREAS, Argus Vom Zollvereintor promoted positive public
relations by visiting hundreds of schools, day-care centers, and
outside training classes; and
WHEREAS, Argus Vom Zollvereintor participated in. numerous
public events such as the Police and Fire Show; and
WHEREAS, Argus Vom Zollvereintor received numerous
letters of commendations from the citizens of Palo Alto and Palo
Alto Police Department personne'l; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to acknowledge
Argus Vom Zollvereintor for his commitment to the community and his
consistent efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public
service of Argus Vom Zollvereintor and records its appreciation, as
well as the appreciation of the citizens of this community, upon
his retirement.
