. RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING -APPRECIATION TO TERRY MORE
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Terry More served the City of Palo Alto and its
citizens as a member of the Palo Alto Police Department from March
1972 through February 1981 and from September 1981 through April
1996; and
WHEREAS, Terry More was promoted to the rank of Sergeant
on October 10, 1982; and
WHEREAS, Terry More used his skills in working with
Stanford Shopping Center Security to recover thousands of dollars'
worth of merchandise from a suspect's home and in assisting East
Palo Alto with rescuing a kidnapping victim; and
WHEREAS, Terry More received over sixty commendations;
ranging from an'award of merit for apprehending two suspects who
burglarized MacArthur Park Restaurant to a medal of valor for
saving an elderly couple from a fully involved house fire; and
WHEREAS, Terry More served as the supervisor of the
Regional Enforcement Detail (RED) Team in the City of East Palo
Alto and coordinated the RED Team's activities .that resulted in
over 1,000 arrests; and
WHEREAS, Terry More provided assistance in and
coordination of numerous special operations with other local,
county, state, and federal agencies and served in various vital
roles as a long-standing member of the Special Weapons and Tactics
Team (S.W.A.T.), a Field Training Officer and FTO Sergeant, and an
integral part of the Investigative Services Division and Crime
Suppression Team; and
WHEREAS, Terry More pursued his 24 -year law enforcement
career with dignity, loyalty, fairness, courtesy, and
professionalism.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public
-service of Terry More and records its appreciation, as well as the
