RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO SUSAN WEXLER
FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE
PUBLIC ART COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Susan Wexler served the City of Palo Alto as a
member of the Public Art Commission from March 1990 through April
1996; and
WHEREAS, Susan Wexler served as co-chair of the Public
Art Commission from June 1995 through April 1996; and
WHEREAS, Susan Wexler authored a descriptive brochure on
Byxbee Park; helped develop a slide presentation to inform
political and community leaders of the vital role that public art
can play in a city's quality of life; assisted in the development
of the soon to be published Public Art Guidelines for Developers;
and provided leadership and advice leading to the acquisition of
one mural, forty two-dimensional works of art, and six sculptures;
and
WHEREAS, Susan Wexler gave unselfishly of her time and
talents .in support of the City of Palo Alto Art In Public Places
Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo wishes to acknowledge and thank
Susan Wexler for her personal commitment to the community and
interest in the City of Palo Alto and for her contributions and
efforts while serving with distinction as a member of the Public
Art Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its
sincere appreciation and the appreciat'_on of the community to Susan
Wexler for her faithful and excellent service rendered to the City.
