RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO RALPH LINDMARK
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Ralph Lindmark served the City of Palo Alto and
its citizens as a member of the Palo Alto Police Department from
November 29, 1971, through January 17, 1979, and from December 30,
1981, through December 26, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Lindmark served the Palo Alto community in
all aspects of law enforcement, beginning his career in patrol, and
working in other capacities, such as in a temporary assignment to
Budget and Staff Services, as the Court Liaison Officer from 1976
-to 1978. where he developed division programs and procedures, as an
integral part of the Field Training Program for new officers, and
as an Evidence Technician; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Lindmark was promoted to the rank of Agent
on November 27, 1983; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Lindmark was chosen as a Special Weapons.
and Tactics (SWAT) member -in 1984 and later'became head sniper; and
WHEREAS, Ralph Lindmark received numerous commendations
for his compassion, professionalism, patience, and tenaciousness;
and
WHEREAS, Ralph Lindmark pursued his 22 -year law
enforcement career with dignity, loyalty, _fairness, and dedication.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public
service of Ralph Lindmark and records its appreciation, as well as
the appreciation of the citizens of this community, upon his
retirement.
