RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO EARL HARVEY
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Earl Harvey began his career as a dispatcher
with the City of Mountain View on September 6, 1966, and served the
City of Palo Alto and its citizens as a dispatcher since the
consolidation with Mountain View Communications in the formation of
the North County Emergency Communications Center in 1977; and
WHEREAS, Earl Harvey was an integral part of the
implementation of Enhanced 9-1-1 service to Palo Alto in 1984; and
WHEREAS, Earl Harvey was an active participant in the
deconsolidation of the North County Emergency Communications Center
in 1985; and
WHEREAS, Earl Harvey served the Palo Alto community in
all aspects of public safety dispatching including Police, Fire,
Emergency Medical Services, Stanford University, and Utilities; and
WHEREAS, Earl Harvey received numerous commendations
during his career for his alertness, responsiveness, and teamwork;
and
WHEREAS, Earl Harvey pursued his 30 -year emergency
services dispatching career with dignity, commitment, dedication,
courtesy, and professionalism.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its
sincere appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Early
Harvey for his faithful and excellent service rendered to the City.
