RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO SAM WATERS
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Sam Waters has served the City of Palo Alto as
a member of the Utilities Department for over 30 years, from
June 1966 to February 1997; and
WHEREAS, Sam Waters began his important role in the City
of Palo Alto with the City Gas Department in June 1966; and
WHEREAS, Sam Waters became a Utility Installer/Repairer
in November 1977; and
WHEREAS, Sam Waters transferred to the Water -Gas -
Wastewater Division where he served as Acting Supervisor in
May 1978 and then was promoted to Supervisor of Wastewater in
December 1978; and
WHEREAS, the Utilities Department is a vital part of the
City of Palo Alto, and Sam Waters has played an instrumental role
in that area throughout his tenure of over 30 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of
the City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its
sincere appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Sam
Waters for his faithful and excellent service rendered to the City.
