HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO7646RESOLUTION 7646 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO JULIA MASER FOR OUTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD WHEREAS, Julia Maser served the City of Palo Alto as a member of the Architectural Review Board from October 1990 to October 1996 and served as Chairperson from October 1992 to October 1993 and from October 1994 to October 1996; and WHEREAS, as a member of the Architectural Review Board, Julia Maser served on various committees, including the ARB Design Awards Committee, the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, the Community Design Subcommittee, and the Downtown Parking Garage Committee; and WHEREAS, Julia Maser unselfishly contributed her architectural knowledge, offered her understanding of .Palo Alto issues, shared her optimism onthe opportunities for Palo Alto, provided expertise in design and architectural detailing, and specifically maintained a position of support for design excellence and innovation in Palo Alto; and WHEREAS, Julia Maser's significant personal contributions were made in the interest of guiding the development of the community, and she was always willing to work with applicants to solve design issues in a constructive manner while adhering to the design standards for review established in the Architectural Review Board ordinance; and WHEREAS, Julia Maser was the Board's unofficial photographer and took approximately 2,000 pictures during her years of office; and WHEREAS, Julia Maser was instrumental in and supportive of resolving design issues that took into account both the public perception of projects and needs of the applicant; and WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to acknowledge and thank Julia Maser for her commitment and pride in the community and her significant efforts and dedication as a member of the Architectural Review Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Julia Maser. for her faithful and excellent service rendered to the City.
