RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO
ALTO SETTING THE DATE FOR CONSIDERATION OF
ANNEXATION OF AREA DESIGNATED "PASTEUR DRIVE
RIGHT-OF-WAY .AND ADJACENT LAND 02-02", PROPERTY
LOCATED ON SAND HILL ROAD BETWEEN PASTEUR DRIVE
AND WELCH ROAD; APPROXIMATELY 1.973 ACRES
[ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBER 142-05-019)
The Council of the City of Palo Al to does FIND AND
DETERMINE as follows:
1. Pursuant to the Stanford Sand Hill Development
Agreement dated August 14, 1997, the City of Palo Al to has
received a request for annexation of territory designated
"Pasteur Drive Right-of-Way and Adjacent Land 02-02" from
Stanford University;
2. Government Code Section 56757 designates the City of
Palo Alto as the conducting authority for this annexation;
3. The property is approximately 1. 973 acres on the
south side of Sand Hill Road between Pasteur Drive and
approximately 100 feet west of Pasteur Drive, is contiguous to
the City of Palo Alto and within its urban service limit;
4. There are no special districts that would be
affected by the proposed annexation;
5. The annexation would result in the City limit line
being on the edge of a road right-of-way consistent with LAFCO
Street Annexation Policies;
6. The annexation would provide for City services to be
used for the complete road right-of way;
7. This territory was pre-zoned on August 14, 1997 to
City of Palo Alto pre-zone designations Public Facilities (PF)
and multiple Family Residential (RM-40);
8. The County Surveyor of Santa Clara County has found
the map and description (Exhibits "A" and "B") to be in
accordance with Government Code Section 56757, the boundaries to
be definite and certain, and the proposal to be in compliance
with LAFCO's road annexation policies; and

9. Said territory is uninhabited and all owners of land
included in the proposal have consented to this annexation.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto
does RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council hereby initiates annexation ------proceedings and will consider annexation of the territory
designated as "Pasteur Drive and Adjacent Land 02-02" and
detachment from the County of Santa Clara at its regular meeting
of May 6, 2002.
SECTION 2. This action is a condition of approval of
the Sand Hill Road Projects. An Environmental Impact Report was
approved by Council Resolution No. 7685 on June 30, 1997.

All that certain real property situate in the County of Santa Clara, State of California, described as
follows:
Being a portion of the lands of The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University,
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the most southerly comer of the lands described as Parcel A in that certain Easement
Deed, from The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Jpnior University to the City of Palo
Alto, dated August 4, 1959, recorded August 20, 1959 in Book 4519 of Official Records of Santa
Clara County at Page 413, said comer also being the most southerly comer of the Stanford
University Annexation No. 7 to the City of Palo Alto, as established by City of Palo Alto
Ordinance No. 1856;
Thence along the southeasterly line of said Stanford University Annexation No. 7, North
48°19'35" East, 276.57 feet to the True Point of Beginning of this description;
Thence continuing along said southeasterly line, the following two (2) courses:
1) North 48°19'35" East, 268.43 feet to the beginning of a curve to the right, having a
radius of 25.00 feet;
2) Easterly .and southeasterly, along said curve, through a central angle of 90°00'00"
and an arc length of 39.27 feet to the southwesterly line of said Stanford University
Annexation No. 7;
Thence along said southwesterly line, the following two (2) courses:
1) South 41°40'25" East, 290.59 feet to the beginning of a curve to the right, having a
radius of 40.00 feet;
2) Southerly and southwesterly, along said curve, through a central angle of 57°37' 52"
and an arc length 40.23 feet to the northwesterly line of Stanford University
Annexation No. 6 to the City of Pafo Alto, as established by City of Palo Alto
Ordinance No. 1711; ·
Thence along said northwesterly line of Stanford University Annexation No. 6, the following two
(2) courses: ·
1) South 15°57'27" West, 15.21 feet to the beginning of curve to the left, having a
radius of 100.00 feet;

2) Southerly and southeasterly, along said curve, through a central angle of 57°36' 13"
and an arc length of 100.54 feet to a point, from said point a radial line bears North
48°21' 14" East;
Thence leaving said line of Stanford University Annexation No. 6, the following four (4) courses:
1) North 73°53'49" West, 332.65 feet to the beginning of a curve to the right, having a
radius of 200.00 feet;
2) Northwesterly, along said curve, through a central angle of 28°26' 12" and an arc
length of 99.26 feet;
3) North 45°27'37" West, 51.43 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left, having a
radius of 40.00 feet;
4) Northwesterly, along said curve, through a central angle of 23°35'44" and arc length
of 16.47 feet to the True Point of Beginning of this description.
Containing an area of 1.973 acres, more or less.
As shown on Exhibit "B" attached hereto and made a part hereof.
