RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO AL ROGERS
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Al Rogers has served the City of Palo Alto from
October 19, 1959 to June 1, 2001 as Heavy Equipment Operator-
Lead, Heavy Equipment Operator, Equipment Operator, Sprinkler
System Repairer, Golf Course Maintenance Person, Gang Mower
Operator, Groundskeeper and Park Maintenance Person; and
WHEREAS, Al Rogers has enhanced the quality
citizens of this community by paving streets,
drains, irrigating the golf course grounds and
landscape of the golf course; and
of life for the
cleaning storm
maintaining the
WHEREAS, Al Rogers, in his 41 years of service with the
Public Works Department, has taken part in repairs of over four
million .squa~e feet of roadway; and
WHEREAS, Al Rogers, in his 41 years of service with the Palo
Alto Golf Course, enhanced playing conditions for over 1.6
million players; and
WHEREAS, Al Rogers has provided his expertise, guidance and
support to fellow employees in both the Public Works and
Community Services Departments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto desires to recognize the
meritorious service of Al Rogers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of Al
Rogers and records its appreciation as well as the appreciation
of the citizens of this community for the service and
contribution rendered during his 41 years of employment with the
City.
