RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO LARRY STARR FOR OUTSTANDING
PUBLIC SERVICE UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Larry Starr began his service with the City of Palo
Alto as a Manager of Electric Engineering in the Utilities Department
in 1985; and
WHEREAS, Larry Starr became the Assistant Director of
Engineering and Operations in 1994; and
WHEREAS, Larry Starr is a strong and supportive leader of his
organization; and
WHEREAS, over the last five years, Larry Starr has planned
and implemented the Utilities infrastructure programs which the citizen
and businesses of Palo Alto now enjoy; and
WHEREAS, Larry Starr developed and negotiated with the City
to establish the Electric Padmount Equipment Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, Larry Starr was instrumental in developing the Dark
Fiber Network which is proving to be beneficial revenue for the City;
and
WHEREAS, Larry Starr has been very sensitive and responsive
to the needs of the citizens of Palo Alto; and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto wishes to acknowledge and
thank Larry Starr for his personal commitment to the community and
interest in the City of Palo Alto and for his personal efforts and
dedication as a member of the Utilities Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records and extends its sincere
appreciation and the appreciation of the community to Larry Starr for
his faithful and excellent service rendered to the City.
