RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO GERALD L. "JERRY" LYNN
UPON HIS RETIREMENT
WHEREAS, Jerry Lynn, as a member of the Administrative
Services Department, has served the City of Palo Alto from February
3, 1969, through June 30, 2000, as Senior Buyer, Supervising Buyer,
and Buyer; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Lynn has materially advanced management of
the city's assets by developing and implementing an automated
inventory control system and managing the City's Surplus Property
Programs; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Lynn has brought and maintained
administrative order by managing the City's Records Management
Program; and
WHEREAS, Jerry. Lynn has brought state and national
recognition and praise to the City by his active participation in
civic and professional purchasing organizations; and
WHEREAS, Jerry Lynn has provided his expertise, guidance
and support of fellow employees in the City and notably in the
Utilities Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the
City of Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of
Jerry Lynn and records its appreciation as well as the appreciation
of the citizens of this community for the service and contribution
rendered during his 31 years of employment with the City.
