RESOLUTION NO. 7939
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING THE LAND USE MAP OF THE PALO ALTO
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1237-
1275. SAN ANTONIO ROAD (FORMER LOS ALTOS TREATMENT
PLANT SITE)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, after duly npticed public
hearing held on January 14, 1998, has recommended that the City
Council amend the Land Use Map of the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan;
and
WHEREAS, the Council held a duly noticed public hearing on
the matter on February 28, 2000 and has reviewed the Final
Environmental Impact Report (EIR) prepared for the project and all
other relevant information, including staff reports, and all
testimony, written and oral, presented on the matter;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The Council finds that the public interest,
health, safety and welfare require amendment to the Land Use Map of
the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan as set forth in Section 2 hereof.
SECTION 2. The Council hereby amends the Land Use Map of
the Palo Alto Comprehensive Plan by changing the land use
designation of the property at 1237 and 127 5 San Antonio Road,
shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by
this reference, and consisting of approximately 13.58 acres, from
"Public Park" to a combination of "Publicly-Owned Conservation
Land" (approximately 8. 96 acres) and "Major Institution/Special
Facilities" (approximately 4. 62 acres) as shown on said
Exhibit "A."
SECTION 3. The Council adopts this resolution in
accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
findings set forth in Council Resolution No. 7940

SECTION 4. This resolution shall be effective upon the
thirty-first (31st) day after its adoption. This delayed effective
date is intended and shall be construed to provide a sufficient
period of time between adoption of the resolution and its effective
date to allow a complete and exclusive opportunity for the exercise
of the referendum power pursuant to the Charter of the City of Palo
Alto and the Constitution of the State of California. A referendum
petition filed after the effective date shall be rejected as
untimely.
