RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION TO NATALIE WELLS
FOR ·ouTSTANDING PUBLIC SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE
PUBLIC ART COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Natalie Wells served the City of Palo Alto as a
member of the Public Art Commission from March 1990 through May
1999; and
WHEREAS, Natalie Wells has given unselfishly of her time and
talents in support of the City of Palo Alto Art In Public Places
Program; and
WHEREAS, Natalie Wells has made a significant personal
contribution to the community through her diligent and
conscientious efforts while serving as a member of the Public Art
Commission, including one term as vice-chair and one teri:n as
chair; and
WHEREAS, during Natalie Wells' service to the Public Art
Commission, she helped develop an Art in Public Places public
participation process; contributed to the development of the
City's Art in Public Places Collection brochure; contributed to
the opening celebration of Byxbee Park and produced a video
commemorating the opening; coordinated and guided the City's Art
in Public Places forums; and provided leadership and advice
leading to the acquisition of one mural, fifty-five two-
dimensional works of art, and ten sculptures.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City
of Palo Alto hereby gratefully records its appreciation, as well
as the appreciation .of the citizens of this community, for the
outstanding public service rendered by Natalie Wells.
