RESOLUTION NO. 6745 •
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AU'lHORIZING SITING AND PERMIT ASSISTANCE
GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto recognizes that it is in the
interest of the national economy to promote the development of
alternative energy resources to reduce our nation's dependence on
coscly foreign oil; and
WHEREAS, funds have been established by Senate Bill 992
(Garamendi), and are available through the California Energy
Com.~ission for grants to local governments for planning and
environmental study activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
hereby RESOLVE as follows:
SECTION 1. The submittal of an application to the California
Energy Comnussion for a grant to perform a study in order to de-
termine the siting requirements for efficient and environmentally
acceptable generating technologies that can be sited within Palo
Alto's service territory is hereby authorized and approved.
SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of Palo Alto or the City
Manager of the City of Palo Alto is hereby authorized and empow-
ered to execute in the name of the City of Palo Alto all necessary
applications, contracts, a~d agreements and amendments hereto to
implement and carry out the purposes specified in this Resolution.
