HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6708e RESOLUTION NO. 6708 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALOORIGINAL ALTO REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 6568 AND RESOLU- TION NO. 6453 AND AMENDING SCHEDULES G-1 AND G-50 OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO UTILITIES RATES AND CHARGES PERTAINING TO GENERAL NATURAL GAS SERVICE The CoJncil of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. Resolution No. 6568, Resolution No. 6453 and interim Resolution No. 6690 relating to the Authority to the City Manager to Effect Certain Changes in Gas Utility Rates (Schedules G-1 and G-50) are hereby repealed in light of recent decisions of the California Public Utilities Commissiori redesigning a:.d restructuring natural gas markets and rates in California. SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 12. 20. 010 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code, Schedules G-1 (General Natural Gas Service) and G-50 (Natural Gas Service} of the Palo Alto Utilities Rates and Charges is hereby amended to read as shown on Sheets G-1-1 and G-50-1 attached hereto and incorporated herein. SECTION 3. ~his Council finds that the revenue derived from the adjustments of said rates shall be used only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Alto City Charter, Article VII, Section 2, entitled Public Utilities Revenue•. The adoption of this resolu- tion, is, therefore, specifically exempted under Public Resources Code Section 21080(b)(8) from the requirements of CEQA. SECTION 4. The foregoing changes shall become effective July 11, 1988. TERRITORY: Within the service area of the City of Palo Alto and on land owned or leased by the City. RATES: Customer Charge: $250.00 per month, applicable to customers whose monthly usage is 50,000 therm.s or less. $600.00 per month. applicable to customers whose monthly usage is greater than 50,000 therms. Oe~~nd Charge: A monthly demand charge will be billed based upon the customers January, 1988 gas usage times 3 cents/therm. Conrnodity Charge: Per Meter Per Month Per therm .. * ....................................................... -• 30. Of Minimum Charge: This charge is for the first 5000 therms per meter per month. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: 1. Service under this schedule is subject to discontinuance in whole or in part in case of actual or anticipated shortage of natural gas resulting from an insufficient supply, inadequate transmission or delivery capacity of facilities. or shortage requirements. However. the City will attempt to minimize disruption by providing adequate notice prior to curtailment. The City will not be liable for damages occasioned by interruption or discontinuance of service supplied under this schedule. 2. No customer shall be entitled to service ileteunder unless adeq11ate standby equipment and fuel are provided and are ready at all times for i11111ediate operation in the event that the supply of gas hereunder shall be discontinued in whole or in part.
