RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AMENDING SCHE[1ULES w-1, w-1-C, and W-2 OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
UTILITIES RATES AND CHARGES PERTAINING TO GENERAL WATER SBRVICE
The Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE as
follows:
SECTION 1: Pursuant to Section 12.20.010 of the Palo
Alto Municipal Code, Schedule W-1 (General Water Service),
Schedule w-1-C (Reclaimed Water Available for Hauling), and
Schedule W-2 (Water Service From Fire Hydrants) of the Palo Alto
Utilities Rates and Charge~ is hereby amended to read as shown on
Sheets w-1-1, W-1-C-l, and w-2-1, attached hereto and incorporated
herein;
SECTION 2: This Council finds that the revenue derived
from the ~uthor1zed adjustments of said rates by the City Manager
shall be used only for the purposes set forth in the Palo Alto
City Charter, Article VII, Section 2, entitled "Public Utilities
Revenue". The adoption of this Resolution, is, therefore, speci-
fically exempted under Public Resources Code Section 21080(b)(8)
from the requirements of CEQA.
SECTION 3: The foregoing changes shall become effective
July 11, 1988.

UTILITY RATE SCHEDULE W-2
This schedule applies to all water taken from fire hydrants for construction,
maintenance, and other uses in conformance with provisions of a Hydrant Meter
Permit.
TERRITORY:
Within the water service area of the City of Paio Alto.
RATES:

Any applicant using a hydrant prio~ to obtaining a Hydrant Meter Permit or
any permittee using a hydrant without a Hydrant Meter Permit sha1l pay a fee
of $50.00 for each day of such use in addition to lll other costs and fees
provided in this schedule. A hydrant permit may be denied or revoked for
fa i 1 ure to pay ~uch fee.
A meter deposit of $500.00 may be charged any applicant for a Hydrant Meter
Permit as a prerequisite to the issuance of a permit and meter. A charge of
$25.00 per day will be added for delinquent return of hydrant meters.

RECLAIMED WATER AVAILABLE FOR

UTILITY RATE SCHEDULE W-1-C
This schedule applies to reclaimed water available for hauling for uses
specified by Authorization No. 2188.8011 (MHK)sag issued by the California
State Regional water Quality Control Board on June 14, 1977.
TERRITORY:
Available to water haulers operating within the Regional Water Quality
Control Plant service area.
RATES:
Per 1,000 gallons $0.30
SPECIAL PRCVISIOllS:
Minimum monthly billing for water will be $15.00. Bills will not be rendered
for months of inactivity.
All haulers of reclaimed water will be instructed on the allowable uses of
reclaimed water and required special operating procedures. Haulers must be
licensed by the City of Palo Alto before water will be provided.
