OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION TO
JOHN ROBERT PETERSON
UPON HIS RETIREMENT

WHEREAS, John Robert Petarson has served the City of Palo Alto
from January 8, 1959 through December 27, 198€, as Fire Apparatus
Operator, Fire Inspector:, and Fire Captain in the Palo Alto Fire
Department1 and
WHEREAS, J~hn Robert Peterdon has pursued his duties for safety
of our citizens with enthusiasm, thoroughness, ~ommon sense, fairness,
compassion, and courtesy1 and
WriEREAS, John Robert Peterson has takeri an active part in Fire
Depart1Sent programs such as fire suppression, fire training, and fire
pceventionJ and
WHEREAS, through the efforts and contributiona of John Robert
Peterson, the City continues to occupy a position of ~espect in terms
of e~ergency services provided to its citizens by the City Fire
Department: and
WHEREAS, the City of Palo Alto <Hsires to L'ecognize tr,e meri-
torioue ser.vice of John Robert Peterson.
NON, TBEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby commends the outstanding public service of John
Robert Peterson and records its appreciation as well as the ap~r~cia
