HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 6578• • • RESOLUTION NO. 6578 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL FOR TBE PALO ALTO CULTURAL CENTER'S MASTER CLASS PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Palo Altt) Cultural Center, a subdivision of the Pal~ Alto Arts and Sciences Division, exists to provide high quality programs and activities which increase and enhance public awareness and appreciation of the visual ar~s; and WHEREAS, the Mast~r Class Program brings renowned or emerging artists to the Palo Alto Cultura! Center tQ offer intensive short-ter• wcrk~hops on techniqugs and artistic philosophy and to prov~de individual instruction in the field of their expertise; and WHEREAS, the Cali~ornia Arts Council (CAC} Artistic and Ad~inistrative Development Program, which provic~£ financial support to local arts organizations for project suppo,t, has agrEed to assist the Master Class Program through a grant cf matching fundsi and WHEREAS, the City •ust accept this grant through formal action; NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo A:to does RESOLVE as follows: SECTION 1. The City of Palo Alto accepts a grant of Twelve Thousand, Eight Hundred and Nineteen Dollars ($12,819) from the CAC Artistic and Ad•inistrative Development Program to match funds expended by the Palo Alto Cultural Center on the Master Class Program. SECTION 2. The Master Class Program will be conducted and the grant aonles ezpended in accornance with an ~yreement numbered AC-b809, entered into between the Palo Alto Cultural Center and the Director of the CAC and dated OCtober 1, 1986. SECTION J. The City Manager, or his designee, is designated as th• official representative of the City of Palo Alto and is authorized to accept grant funds from the CAC Artistic and AdminiatrAtive Development Prograa and to coaplete such docwc•nts as ar~ necessary to the acceptance of such funds. SECTION 4. The council of the City of P•lo Alto finds that this la not a project under the California Environaental QuaLity Act, and, the~efore, no environmental i•p~ct aaaasa•ent is necessary. ..
