RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY O~ PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR l986 GRANT FUNDS UNDER
THE REGIONAL COMP~TITIVE PROGRAM OF THE COMMUNITY
PARK LANDS ACT OF 1986 FOR GREER PARK PHASE Ii
WHEREAS, the people of the State of Clllifornia have enacted
the Community Parklands hCt of 1986, which provides funds to the
State of california and its political subdivisions for acquiring
and developing facilities for public recreat~onal and historical
purposes1 and
WHeREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has
been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the
program wlthin the State, setting up necessary procedures
governing application by local agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by
res~lution the approv&l of applications before submission of said
applications to the State; and
WHEREilS, said applications C'>ntain ass~rances that the
applicant must comply with; and
WHE~EAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement
with the State of C&lifornia for &cquisition, de...,elopmer4t,
rehabilitat!on or restoration of a project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of ~alo Alto does
RESOLVE:
Section 1. The City approves the filing ~= an applicati~n
for $153,ooo for Community Parklands Act of 1986 state Grant
Assistance for the Greer Park Phase II Project (the project).
Secticn 2. The City certifies that it understands the
assurances and ~ertifioation in the application.
Section 3. The City cer~ifies that it has or will have
sutfiCTent funds to operate and maintain the project.
Section 4. The City certifies that it will complete the
project within thrP.e years fro~ the date of approval by the
State.
Section S. The City appoints the City Manager or his
designee as agent of th•:JJ City to conduct all negotiations, execute
and aubmi t al! documents, including but not limited to
applications, agr-dements, amendments and payment requests which
may be necessary for the com1:letion of the project.

Section 6. Pursuant to the California Env~ronmental Quality
Act, an Environmental Assessment for the proje~~ has been
completed and a negative decldration was approved.
