RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
AP?ROVING THe APPLICATION FOR FEDEPAL LAND ANO WATER
CONVERSATION FUNDS FOR GRZER PARK PHASE II
WHEREAS, the Congress un~er Public Law 88-578 has authorized
the establishment of a Federal Land and Water ~onservation Fund
Grant-In-Aid Program, providing matching funds to the State of
california and its political subdivisions fo~ acquiring lands and
~eveloping facilities for public outdoor recreation purposes1 and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation is
responsible for the Administration oi the program within the
State, setting up necessary rule~ and procedures govarning
application by local agencies under the program1 and
WHEREAS, &a~d adopted procedures established by the State
Department of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to
certify by resolution the approval of applications and the
availability of local matchinq funds prior to submission of said
appli~~tions to the State1 and
WHEREAS, the proposed Greer Park project is consist~nt with
the Statewide Co•prehensive Recreation-Resources Plan: Recreation
in California, Issues and Actiona: 1981-19851 and
WffER8AS, the project is compatible with tha land use plans of
those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project1
NOW, THEREFOaE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does
RESOLVE:
Section 1. Th9 City approves the filing of an application
for $50,000 of Land ~nd Wat.er Conservation Fund assistance for its
Greer Park Phase II Project (the projeet).
Section 2. The City certifies that. it has matching funds
from its General Fund aod other grant sour~es, and ie can finance
100 percent of the project, half of which will be reimbursed by
the Land and Water Conservation Pund Program.
Section 3. The City certifies that the project is compatible
with the land use ~lans of these jurisdictions immediately
surrounding the project1
Section 4. '111e City ap~ints the City Manager or his
designee as agent of the City to conduct all neg0tiations, execute
and submit all docu•ente, including but not limited to
applications, agreements, amendments and billing statements which
may be necessary for the completion of the project.

Section s. Pursuant to the California EnviconmP.ntal Quality
Act, i"n Brivironmental Assessment for the project has been
completed and a negative declaration was approved.
