RESOLUTION NO. 6557
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR 1986 GRANT FUNDS UNDER
THE REGIONAL COMPETITIVE PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA
PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES ACT OF 1984 FOR
GREER PAR!<
WHEREAS, the People of the State of California have enacted
the California Park and Recreational Faclities Act of 1984, which
provides funds to the State of California and its political
subdivisions for developing facilities for public recreational
purposes: and
WHEREAS, The State Department of Parks and Recreation has
been delegated the responsibility for the administr«tion of the
program within the state, setting up necessary procedures
governing application by local agencies under the program: and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department
of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by
resolution the approval of applications before submission of said
applications to the state1 and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the
applicant must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agreement
with the State of California for development rehabilitation or
restoration of the project.
NOW, THEREFORE 1 the Council of the City of Palo Al to does
RESOLVE:
Section lo The City approves the filing of an Application
for 1986 State Grant Assistance for the Greer Park project.
Section 2. The City Certifies that it understands th•:!
assurances and certification in the application.
Section 3. The City certifies t.hat it has or will ha'\7e
sufflcient lunds to operate and maintain the project.
Section 4. If the project is selected for state grant
funding, the City certifies that it will provide construction
plans and specifications to the state within one year of the
appropriateion of funds under this program and will commence work
immediately after state approval.

Section 5. The City appoints the City Manager or his
designee as agent of the ~ity to conduct all negotiations,
execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to
applications, ag:-ee:::e:it:;, c.mendments, payment requests, and so
on, which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned project.
Section 6. The Council of the City of Palo Alto finds that
this ts a project under the California Environmental Quality
Act. An Environmental Assessment has been completed and the
project has received a negative declaration.
