RESOLUTION NO. tS~ RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THITY-OF PALO ALTO
DESIGNATING THE MIO-PENINSULA ACCESS CORPORATION AS
THE CABLE ACCESS ORGANIZATION FOR CABLE TELEVISION
WHEREAS, the Mid-Peninsula Access Corporation has been
incorporated according to articles and bylaws consistent with providing
community access in connection with cable television; and
WHEREAS, on March , 1986, the City Council authorized execution
of a Franchise Agreemen~with Cable Communications Cooperative of Palo
Alto, Incorporated, which franchise agreement shall provide to the City
capital, facilities and equipment for access to the cable system1 and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Appendix E.I.B. of the Franchise
Agreement with the Cable Communication Cooperative of Palo Alto, Inc.,
the City has agreed to formally designate, in writing, a community
access organization as the organization for purposes of Section 4.3 of
the agreement; and
WHEREAS, on Jilly 22, 1985, the City indicated its intention to
designate the Mid-~~ninsula Access Corporation as the community access
organization;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. The Mid-Peninsula Access Corporation is hereby desig-
nated as the entity which will administer capital, facilities and
equipment which may be available to the City for access purposes under
any franchise or franchises for cable television service which may he
negotiated by the City on its own behalf or on tt'e behalf of other
goverrunental agencies.
~ECTION 2. This designation is good until revoked by formal
action of the Council. The City staff is hereby directed to neqotiate
a written agreement with the Mid-Peninsula Access Corporation imple-
menting this designation.
SECTION 3. The Council finds that this is not a project under the
California Environmental Quality Act and, therefor~, no environmental
impact accessment is necessary.
