RESOLUTION NO. 6490
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
REPEALING RESOLUTIONS NO. 5737 ANO 5798 AND ADOPTING
DISCLOSURE CATEGORIES FOR THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST
CODE FOR DESIGNATED POSITIONS AS REQUIRED SY SECTION
2.09.020 OF THE PALO ALTO MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, Se~tion 2.09.0~0 of the Palo Alto Municipal Code requires
the Council adopt a list of disclosure cate7ories for its Conflict of
Interest Code for Designated Positions; and
WHEREAS, the Council adopted Resolution No. 5737 on September 17,
1979, enumerating seven disclosure categories: and
WHEREAS, the Council added an eighth disclosure category in Reso-
lution No. 5798 for Historic Resources Board ~~mbers; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to consolidate all conflict of inte-
rest disclosure categories in one document;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Palo Alto does RESOLVE
as follows:
SECTION 1. Resolutions No. 5737 and 5798 are hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. The following disclosure categories are hereby estab-
lished for all designated employees of the City of Palo Alto:
1. Persons in this category shall disclose all interests in
real property within the City of Palo Alto or subject to
the jurisdiction of the City of Palo Alto.
2. Persons in this cateqory shall disclose all investments
in business entities and all sources of income owning
real property within the City of Palo Alto or subject to
the jurisdiction of the City of Palo Alto.
3. Persons in this category shall disclose all invetitments
in business entities and all sources of income in the
construction or building industry within the City of
Palo Alto.
4. Persons in this category shall disclose all investments
in business entities and sources of income of the type
that provide services, supplies, equipment, or machinery
to the City of Palo Alto.
s. Persons in this category shall disclose all investments
in business entities and sources of income of the type
that provide services, supplies, equipment, or machinery
to the City agency or department with which the person
is affiliated.

Persons in this category shall disclose all investments
in business entities and all sources of income subject
to regulation or control by the City agency or depart-
ment with which the person is affiliated.
Persons in this category shall disclose all management
positions he or she holds in any business entity re-
quired to oe disclosed in categories 1 through 6 above.
Persons in this category shall disclose all interests in
real property within the City of Palo Alto or subject to
the jurisdi~tion of the City of Palo Alto which are sub-
ject to regulation or control by the City agency with
which the person is affiliated.
For all categories: Financial interests are reportable only
if located within or subject to the jurisdiction of the City
of Palo Alto or if the business entity is doing business or
has done business within the jurisdiction at any time during
the two years prior to the filing of the statements.
