~ESOLUTiO~ OF THE COUNCIL UF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
HONORING LELAND D. LEVY
WHEREAS, Leland o. Levy has served as Mayor of Palo Al to from
January 21. 1985 to January 6, 1986; and
WHEREAS, Leland D. Levy, as Mayor, appointed several outstanding
members of the public to various committees such as the Arastradero
Preserve Committee, the Community Development Block Grarit CitiLens
Advisory Committee, and the Rental Housing Mediation Task Force
Committee; and
w:~EREAS, Leland O. Levy, represented the City of Palo Alto as
the del eyate to the City/ School Li a 1 son Comm1 ttee, the Santa Clara
County Inter-City Council, and the League of California Cities
Peninsula Division; and
WHE~EAS, Leland D. Levy represented the City Council at numerous
loca1 events includin:,j groundbreaking and rib.:>on-cutting events, the
May Fete Parade, the Arbor Day ceremonies, as a judge in the Annual
Chili Cook. off Contest, tl'le Japanese Cultural Festival, numerous occa-
sions welcoming visiting dignitaries; and
WHEREAS, during his term, the C1ty of Palo Alto continued its
tradition of maintaining an excellent quality of l1fe by significantly
addiny to the recreational and cultural facilities such as the Gamble
House Garden Center, the Terman Library and to the City of Palo Alto's
permanent collection of art.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that his colleagues on the City
Councn do hereby honor Leland u. Levy and convey to him their appre-
ciation for his many services to the City of Palo Alto.
