RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALO ALTO
EXP~ESSING ITS AP~RECIATION TO ASSEMBLYMAN BYRON O. SHER
FUR HIS SUPPORT OF LEGISLATION
WHE~EAS, Assemblyman Byron D. Sher is a former Councilmember and
Mc11or of the C1ty of Palo Alto and continues to reside in Palo Alto;
and
WHEREAS, Assemblyman ~yron o. Sher has represented Palo Alto and
the 21st Assemblj Uistrict in the State Legislature for three terms;
and
WHE1<£AS, Assemblyman Byron o. Sher has been very effective in
tne Assembly Coll)mittees on Toxic Materials and Environmental Safety,
Util1t1es and Commerce, Natural Resources and Criminal Law and Public
Safety, all of which are extremely important to Palo Alto; and
WHEl<EAS, Assemblyman Byron D~ Sher is the current Chairman of
the Assembly Natural Resources Committee and is a strong advocate for
environmental matters; and
WHE1<EAS 11 Assemblyman Byron o. Sher has exerted continuing 1ead-
ership in the areas of nazardous materials management; and
WHEREAS, Assemblyll'.an Byron D. Sher has earned the gratitude of
the Lea~ue of California Cities for his willing legislative assistance
on issues of importance to local government statewide and is known in
Sacramento as the 1eg1slator who, without compromising his principles,
1s willing to be responsive and open on many diverse issues.
NOW. THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Palo Alto hereby recognizes the outstanding contributions of
Assemblyman t5yron o. sner and looks forward to working with him in
future years to secure passage of legislation of high priority to the
City of Palo Alto.
